Good Tuesday Morning! Since we deployed this past Friday, I wanted to start getting in the habit of posting feature releases because we are deploying some really cool stuff; not just bug fixing and optimizations…although those are just a natural part of software development. So without further ado…

Sharing Direct

It’s here, and just as you would imagine. Share directly with a teammate, or share with a Client who is on your client portal. While the app already had a Share button, it was only for a direct linkshare. Now you can share directly in the app without having to send a link.

The Share feature was not much of a focus for us until recently, as I wanted the ‘space itself’ to be the share. But, business is business, and we (and our customers) needed to quickly send a file with an email notification.

Checklists…Just the Beginning

This one is somewhat controversial for me. Because when you add checkboxes, people naturally try to turn any list into a full on, blown up Project Management software. But, we couldn’t avoid it either as Redocd is intended to live ‘between’ your Chat app (e.g. Slack) and your Project Management app (e.g. Jira, Trello). So Checklists are here, and are intended for things such as: follow ups discussed in a meeting, or things you need to do for your client…or simply that list of to-dos that the team needs to follow up on that aren’t specifically delivery tasks (i.e. like writing code or building designs…tasks that should live in Jira or the like).

Slack Integration isn’t here yet, but Checklists are. Redocd is a great place to put to-do’s for the team rather than everything living in a Slack channel or email.

Notes…also a VERY early beginning

I cannot wait to show you what our plans are for next year with regards to “Notes”, but this truly is the very beginning of where we want to take Redocd. The word ‘metadata’ could be used, but it has pretty much been ruined in the industry as simply a way to track people for advertising purposes. Fortunately, we are only using metadata for assets, projects, files…THINGs. Not people. And for YOUR teams’ benefit, not anyone elses. For now though, simply add a note to any card in the system (a file, a linkshare, etc.) More to come on the use cases for this…

I’m very excited to show you how these notes can be used properly. There will be other metadata fields as well in the future, but for now, it’s already powerful for managing all of that ‘atomic content’ you and your team need to store.

No Black Friday here, but..

It’s really an exciting time for us here at DreamLeader. We have some big checkpoints coming early December, and it will help determine the course of the company and product.
